Get the Look: Jessica Alba's Ponytail Braid

Attending the 2012 Environmental Media Awards, Jessica Alba's look turned some heads with her cool, hybrid style. While from the front the style looked totally sleek and sophisticated, it was the back view that had everyone buzzing: a French braid that wrapped into the ponytail. So cool! Here's how to recreate the edgy look at home.

1. Start by creating a deep side part and sectioning off your hair into two parts (one on each side of the part). The braid section will be smaller than the ponytail section, which will include the hair above the part. Secure this section to the side (to work on later).

2. Take the smaller section, and french braid around the back of your head until you reach the opposite side along the nape of your neck. Secure with a few bobby pins that are the same color as your hair.

3. Smooth the other section of your hair into a low side ponytail, with the French braid still exposed. Take a section of hair and wrap around to create a ponytail. Secure with bobby pins.

4. Spray with hairspray to keep all your hair in place.
