Maybe he's born with it, or maybe he worked his way up from the bottom. Either way, YouTube sensation Manny Guiterrez, aka Manny MUA, went from makeup tutorials, beauty reviews and drugstore hauls to landing the sweetest gig ever: the first male face of a Maybelline campaign.
The makeup artist is joining Shayla Mitchell in a video ad for Maybelline New York’s Colossal Big Shot mascara. That's a boss move, which is fitting given that the gold-infused, royal purple-toned product is all about embracing our inner boss. Gutierrez said he is "thrilled to be able to work with a global brand like Maybelline that is recognizing male influencer talent and is willing to shine a spotlight on it." While men have been wearing makeup for years, in a beauty industry led by women, it's difficult to remember this.
Back in the fall, COVERGIRL announced James Charles as their first male face. Today, Maybelline is the latest cosmetics brand to embrace the ideology that makeup is unisex.
Beauty boys are here to stay, and we love it. Watch the glamorous video below for lash inspiration:
