Mexican Men Go From Macho to Metrosexual

Plenty of Mexican men have discovered that being a man’s man and looking well put together do not have to be mutually exclusive. Estée Lauder’s Marc Latiere’s tells WWD that Mexican sales of top beauty products for men (including Biotherm, Clinique Skin Supplies for Men, Aramis Lab Series and Clarins Men) have increased 20 to 25 percent annually over the last five years. BDF Mexico’s Diego Ferrández went on to say that Mexico is a Latin American “forerunner” in the men’s market.

Wow! We think this is a step in the right direction. We’re all for men smelling good and practicing good grooming-as long as they don’t spend more time in the bathroom than we do.

"Well, this was certainly an interesting article. I must admit, I never would have thought that I’d see the day that an article targeted itself solely on the Mexican male-beauty market. Either way, this is certainly a lucrative new scene that could lend itself to other markets. Nice to see a focus away from the drug cartels and more towards the lighter side of the news. I do have one question though. I heard that there’s a new HPV treatment that’s available that’s bankrolled by these newer Mexican beauty markets now that they’re starting to make more money. Just out of curiosity, is this true?"

dofiny123, a "mextrosexual" roughly defined, is a heterosexual male who is as given to his grooming, beauty treatments, and fashionable clothes as is a woman. for instance, if you don't pay much attention to your body odor, you would not be considered a metrosexual. and wearing a single mens diamond ring will not make any difference. it would be nice, though.
