So remember how abuela—or, at least my abuela—would soak her feet in water and Epsom Salt and say it was good for you? Turns out, there's something to that old wives' tale. I recently had a pedicure and let my feet soak in a warm tub sprinkled with Dr. Teal’s Epsom Salt Soaking Solution with Eucalyptus (visit drteals.us for retail locations) and my tootsies came out calm and totally refreshed.

Um, is it me or are our Latina starlets all morphing into Kim Kardashian? It’s the black clothes, the big flesh-tone lips, the long cascading curls framing the ample bustline. Check out the lovely Kardashian, and then feast your eyes on these look-alikes, Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton, ABC Family star Francia Raisa and handbag designer Camila Alves, and then tell me, am I crazy?

I like a good lick of pistachio ice cream once in a while. But I was shocked to learn how much I love the Laura Mercier Crème de Pistache line of body products. This particular pistachio scent is so delicious you’ll be tempted to lick the pale green Souffle Body Crème ($55, lauramercier.com) right out of the jar. At once light, sweet and oh-so-unique, it'll be one decadent zero-calorie treat in which you can indulge.

Draw around the outside of your lips with a flesh-colored lipliner. I like Maybelline Color Sensational Lipliner, Nude ($6, Walmart.com). This will help define your lips and keep the lipstick from bleeding. And as opposed to using a liner that matches the color of your lipstick, with a flesh-tone outline you won’t be left with a dark ring around your mouth after your lipstick has long faded.

Every girl can recall the first time she smelled Noxema. I was 12, spending a summer week with my Aunt Hilda. I didn't have a skin care routine yet, but already longed for my own bottles and jars of magic beauty creams that would make me look pretty and grown-up. Before bed, my aunt gave me a tub of Noxema to wash my face. I unscrewed the blue lid and inhaled deeply. Oh, that creamy, tingly, slightly astringent scent; I would never forget it.

Recently I heard that the secret to producing a super-shiny manicure is all in the brush. I think I can agree with that. Rimmel London’s new Lasting Finish Professional Nail Polish ($4, ulta.com) imparts impeccable shine in just one stroke thanks to its fat, flat brush. Nevermind that this wide applicator cuts your mani time in half, but as the polish is laid down in one smooth stroke, the chances of clumping or creating streaks is dramatically decreased.

Since coloring my hair it’s been dry, dry, dry. I tried the new duo from Carol’s Daughter – Rosemary Mint Purifying Shampoo and Conditioner ($13 and $16, carolsdaughter.com)and now it’s soft, smooth and shiny! Really, my hair is softer and looks so much healthier than it did a few weeks ago. And I know it’s a direct result from switching to this shampoo and conditioner.

I’ve gotten two bad sunburns in my life. The first was when I was 13 years old, vacationing with my family in Puerto Rico. I got so sunburned the belly chain I was wearing felt like a belt of daggers on my red, inflamed skin. (And yes, I wore a belly chain. Whatever, it was cool back in the 90s!) The second was when I was 22, on vacation in Miami with friends. I got so sunburned I passed out that night and woke up with a blister on my forehead.

I brought home a bottle of Dove Men+Care Body & Face Wash, Extra Fresh($6, drugstore.com) a few weeks back and set it gingerly on the side of my bathtub. Would my man use it? From my experience, if soap doesn’t come in the form of a bar, some guys tend to back away. Is it because they fear the unknown? Is it because liquid soap is harder to distribute without the aid of a pink pouf? Who knows?

Makeup artist Mally Roncal created her makeup line, Mally, five years ago. Happy Anniversary, girl! And while I’ve always known about it, I just recently fell head-over-heels in love with her Evercolor Shadow Stick ($25, mallybeauty.com) in the prettiest shade of shimmering bronze.
