All Things Worthy with John Frieda at Zac Posen

Zac Posen is a man of vision, so it was interesting to hear that he didn't quite see the vision of John Frieda Global Creative Consultant, Luigi Murenu, when he described his plans to crimp the hair for Posen's Fall 2013 runway collection. Assured by Luigi of this look, it ended up being one of the best this season, easily.

Luigi created a deconstructed chignon using Luxurious Volume mousse before blow drying the model's hair and then pulling it back into a chignon, leaving only a few strays to give the look a bit more edge. The crimping, thankfully, was much more delicate and chic than expected and showed beautifully with Posen's very autumnal-inspired collection of red carpet worthy hits.

Want to achieve this look but have curly hair? Luigi lit with excitement as one does when talking about what we love while we anticipated his answer to be some sort of miracle short cut. His response...you have to straighten first to smooth the hair, no exception. We thought it was going to be simple, to which he added, "it's a little bit of double work but isn't it anyway when you have curly hair?" At least he understands our struggles and I, for one, am willing to put in the double work.
