The inspiration for Christian Siriano's Spring/Summer 2015 Show were the glass sculptures of Sergio Redegalli and influenced the icy arctic blues and greens, and the sharp laser cut patterns and intricate crystal embroidery.
The makeup was just as inspired! Lead makeup artist for MAC Cosmetics, Polly Osmond, shares how she created the look as she worked backstage at the show. For the models, the skin is lightweight and perfected with Studio Face and Body Foundation pressed into the skin with fingertips to create flawless, natural skin. Next, cheeks are lightly flushed using the Spring Summer 2015 Lip/Cheek Trend Palette in 'Spring Sensation' and rubbed into the cheekbones. Then, skin is set with Prolong Powder to reduce shine. Brows are brushed up and lashes curled.
Now for the eyes, Osmond used Prep + Prime lash mixed with Marine Ultra and Cyan pigment to create a navy blue mascara for lashes. Additionally, she added chunky iridescent glitter #30 Lashes then added to the lashline. Pro Mixing Medium Eyeliner is applied to eyelid and the same glitter is applied to create super reflective eyelids!
And then it's on to the hair: We love a great blowout but also enjoy our second day hair. It's a little more lived in and effortless looking (even if it did take hours to do just yesterday). That is just what we got to see backstage at Siriano's Spring/Summer 2015 Show. The collection consisted of elegant separates for day and lustrous, long dresses for evening. The hair was long with a deep part and pin-curled waves. Sebastian Professional lead stylist, Anthony Cole, calls the runway hairstyle " glamorous yet edgy."
Want to create the look? The key is to create waves that last.
After hair is blown dry and smooth, take one inch pieces from the bottom section and, starting from the top, fold hair over finger creating a loop and hot iron (don't press and hold, try a tapping motion). Repeat until its all curled and set witha great hold hairspray like Sebastian Professional Shaper Zero Gravity.
