UK singer Aluna George opened Rebecca Minkoff's Fall 2014 show, which featured a parade of tailored coats, slouchy pants, pearl-embellished T-shirts, and of course, major shoes and bags (the slim fanny styles were our personal obsession).

Grace Kelly is a classic emblem of pure elegance and poised femininity that defined a generation and resonates to this day, but are those characteristics something that are innate or can it be attained? After experiencing the the aura of Kelly’s timeless beauty, which served as inspiration to Erin Fetherston’s Fall/Winter 2014 collection, the answer is: Flirty sophistication can most definitely be acquired. All you need is one of Fetherston’s floral and lace cocktail dresses, librarian glasses and slick ponytail and you’re set.

BCBG signals the start of New York Fashion Week for most editors every season, and thus we enter the Lincoln Center tents excited, overly caffeinated, and on a day like today—FREEZING. Luckily the stream of fur capelets, super-soft, high-low coats, and Sherpa-esque jackets coming down the runway reminded us just why we love fall fashion.

Fashion Week may as well be called Party Week. Sure, it's all about the clothes but it's also really all about the party, and each Fashion Week party tries to outdo the last.

At the CZAR By Cesar Galindo presentation during Spring/Summer 2014 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week we got the chance to speak to CZAR designer Cesar Galindo about his collection and the current state of fashion. It got deep.
“The inspiration for the show is the idea of virtual travel and a fast paced lifestyle,” shares Galindo. The vibe is urban, artsy and downtown offered in a variety of silhouettes, created for with every woman in mind. The collection dons a techno palette of neon pinks, electric blues and metallic.

If your ship was sinking, what would you gather first before jumping overboard? If you’re asking Uruguayan designer Gabriela Perezutti-Isacson she’d have to say: Lots of white lace, pointed flats and a couple bottles of hairspray.
“The inspiration for the collection was sailing, nautical things,” lead hair stylist Amy Farid tells us. “Gabriela sails, her husband is big sailor. So we’ve created this woman who is a fancy lady going to the Caribbean with her friends. They have this immaculate hair that is super structured and makeup done.”

A couple of minutes before the Argentine Designers Spring 2014 fashion show began on Friday night, we were sort of anticipating lots of flashiness and hyped-up color, because, well, you know those Argentinos sure love to go all out. What we saw, instead, was something in between.

The inspiration for CZAR Cesar Galindo's Spring/Summer 2014 presentation focused on the impact of modern technology and having the world at your fingertips. The beauty result was far out: A chic, techno pony fit for an extraterrestrial!
O&M creative director, Janelle Chaplin, told us just how she created the standout do.

Charlotte Ronson is the queen of cool, so it's no surprise that Carrie Diaries stars Chloe Bridges and AnnaSophia Robb showed up for her Spring 2014 fashion presentation last night. And even though Charlotte's clothes shine on their own (Who wouldn't love that awesome crop top in the photo?), it was the gorgeous, effortless hair I couldn't stop staring at all night.

Lots of lucky people get to see the latest collections come down the runway each season at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, but few get to see the clothes up close and personal...before the runway show even happens! That's why we knew we couldn't pass up the opportunity when Custo Barcelona invited us downtown to their Soho boutique to check out the Spring/Summer 2014 collection up close & personal.
