Dancing With Butterflies

Looking at our Mexico Issue, it's almost impossible to pick a favorite article (and I'm not just saying that). But I will say that both of the personal essays, "Immigrant Dreams," by Reyna Grande and "All About My Mami" by Gustavo Arellano, made me cry.

Award-winning author Grande's latest novel, Dancing With Butterflies (Washington Square Press), came out earlier this month. It's told in the alternating voices of four women brought together by their love of Folklorico dance. Through the good times and the bad, they stand by each other and find the courage to keep living and the grace to keep dancing.
