"Ugly Betty" Cast Fights Malaria

Move over Adam Rodriguez, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, and Shakira—looks like Malaria’s got the biggest guest-starring role on Ugly Betty this season—and that’s a very good thing!
PerezHilton.com reports that the cast of the hit ABC comedy and the United Nations are joining forces to shed light on a very important cause: the campaign to stop the spread of malaria in Africa. The show will devote an entire episode of its fourth season to the very important issue. It will feature the UN's Nothing But Nets initiative, to "reveal the role mosquito nets play in preventing the disease—a major killer of children in Africa.”
Betty—which films in New York—actually shot the episode inside the UN’s New York City headquarters (they’re the first comedy on television to be given that unique opportunity). We commend Betty executive producer Silvio Horta and company for being proactive in helping to spread the word about an important cause. We only hope that they’re as efficient at spreading the word about Betty’s postponed season premiere, which will air in the dreaded Friday night death slot!. Are you proud of the Mode gang for fighting the good fight? Are you tuning in to Betty next Friday? Dish in the comments!
