Bruno Mars Responds to "Disgusting" Comments About Super Bowl Performance

We think Bruno Mars did a stellar job performing at the Super Bowl this year. But not everyone thought he deserved to be chosen to take the spotlight at such a high profile event.

The "Treasure" singer appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show recently to talk about his success and his critics. DeGeneres highlighted an article written about Mars in The New York Times, where New York magazine critic Jody Rosen is quoted saying Mars does not have all the requirements needed to be a true pop star.

To be a pop star today, “you have to sprinkle your stardust across all these different platforms,” Rosen said. “Not just the concert stage and the record, but the red carpet and the paparazzi shot, your clothing line and your fragrance.”

DeGeneres asked if Mars had heard what was said about him in the piece. "I did hear that, and I think that was by far the most disgusting thing I've heard," he told DeGeneres. "Not because it was taking a shot at me, but I was just thinking about aspiring young musicians."
