Fashion Police host Joan Rivers isn't exactly known for her tact, but a recent joke takes her off-hand humor to an disgusting new level.

According to TMZ, Rivers made the distasteful joke on an episode of the Today Show while talking about her daughter's guest bedroom. "Those women in the basement in Cleveland had more space," she said.

The "comedienne" refused to back down from her statements, telling TMZ that the three women who were held hostage by Ariel Castro shouldn't complain because "they got to live rent free for more than a decade."

Two of the three women held hostage -- Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus -- came out swinging, saying they were shocked and disappointed by the comments, and wanted a sincere apology.

Rivers told TMZ that she won't apologize, and she thinks the hostages should lighten up. "One of them has a book deal. Neither are in a psych ward," she said.

"They're ok. I bet you within three years, one of them will be on Dancing With The Stars."

Wow. We're absolutely disgusted by these comments. Share your thoughts in the comments.
