Similar to the reason behind wearing a black dress to the 7th Golden Globes, many artists want to show their support to the #MeToo and #TimesUp movement with a white rose. Among the many artists are Cardi B, Camila Cabello, Kelly Clarkson, Halsey, SZA, Dua Lipa, Rita Ora and others. Now more than ever awards shows are becoming more political and that change is felt throughout all entertainment industries.

Meg Harkins, senior vice president of marketing at Roc Nation, sent out an email asking artists to wear a white rose to music's biggest night.

“We choose the white rose because historically it stands for hope, peace, sympathy, and resistance,” read the email. “Please let us know if we can add your name to our list of supporters. The world is listening.”
