Last night, Cardi B won Best New Artist at the iHeartRadio Music Awards and her acceptance speech was everything you thought it would be.
She won the award after opening the show with an explosive medley of her hits, Bartier Cardi, Motorsport, No Limit, Finesse, and Bodak Yellow. After thanking her family and members of her team, she moved on to thank her fans for always defending her.
The Bodak Yellow singer said, "Even when I'm wrong they be like she's still right." She made sure there was still room to talk about the opposite side of that coin and sent a message to her naysayers. "And I want to thank my haters too because they be downloading my stuff so they can hear it and talk crap about it. But it benefits me." The sentence about her detractors was filled with the iconic Cardi-B cackle that we've all come to love.
During the last moments of her acceptance speech, the Bronx rapper dropped the biggest bomb of all; the release date for her debut album. She teased, "My album will be coming in April. Okay? Yes, sir. April. Stay tuned mother f--kers." We will.
