Bernadette Hernandez, mother to Bruno Mars, passed away Saturday due to a brain aneurysm, according to the Associated Press. She was only 55.
Bernadette, a hula dancer and singer from the Philippines, inspired Bruno's love of music. A publicist for Mars' label, Atlantic Records, told the Associated Press that Hernandez passed away in Honolulu, Hawaii at Queens Medical Center.
Mars bought his mother a house in Hawaii earlier this year, telling Gulf News, "That was the most beautiful moment ever. I bought my mom a nice house in Hawaii, and that was before I got anything for myself," he said. "I had to take care of mom."
Our condolences are with the family at this time.
