Here's exactly what went down: The 20-year-old Cuban American was making her way through Washington Dulles International Airport, when a TSA agent stopped her after they found what appeared to be a bag of marijuana in her carry-on. TMZ reported that police were then flagged and the star was arrested and charged with possession. But the Fifth Harmony singer was actually not placed under arrest at all.
"Lauren Jauregui was not arrested and detained as reported, but simply given a citation for possession of marijuana and released on her own recognizance," Jauregui's attorney told E! News. "She will address the matter appropriately through the legal system. This will not interfere with any future scheduled performances or activities."
Though the group's attorney noted that this would not affect the singer's appearance at any concerts, Billboard reports that Jauregui was not present for Fifth Harmony's show in Brazil on Wednesday.
Ms. Lauren has not yet commented on the incident.
