Jessica Alba: How I Try to Discipline My Daughters

A mother of two girls, Jessica Alba has realized just how tricky it can be to raise a 5-year-old and 2-year-old, especially when sibling rivalry is involved.

“They steal stuff from each other!” Alba told People. “They’re constantly snatching things out of the other one’s hand, destroying something that the other one’s building.”

The 32-year-old actress, who grew up with a brother, often finds it amusing but has focused on ways to try and discipline Honor and Haven. So what exactly is her method?

“Now it’s, ‘Stand in the corner and put your nose against the wall!’” Alba says. “My 2-year-old can last 15 seconds before she’s like, ‘Okay, I’m done!’, and then I’m like, ‘Wait, it’s not up to you!’ My 5-year-old can go for some time, like a minute or two.”

Although her attempts to discipline her girls don't quite go as planned, she explains what's even more important to her: “Every day I just want them to be happy and good and thoughtful. I just want them to be nice people.”
