Modern Family Cast Gets Salary Increase - More Than Doubles Their Income

ABC

After filing a lawsuit last week, the Modern Family cast will get the salary increase they wanted and will now focus on the fourth season of the show, according to Gossipcop.com. The cast members' salaries will go from $65,000 an episode to $170,000.

Ed O'Neill, who plays Jay Pritchett, was earning $100,000 an episode and will also get a salary increase, though he wasn't a part of the lawsuit filing. The lawsuit claimed that the actors' contracts were violated according to California's "7 Year Rule," which does not allow for personal service deals to last longer than 7 years.

Sofia Vergara, who is the highest paid actress on TV with both salary and endorsement deals, was recently nominated for an Emmy Award for "outstanding supporting actress" for her role as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in the show. Modern Family was also nominated for other Emmy Awards.
