It's Over! Naya Rivera and Ryan Dorsey Are Divorcing

Splash News

'Til death do us part was apparently, sadly, not in the cards for Naya Rivera and her husband Ryan Dorsey.

According to Perez Hilton, after two years of marriage, the former Glee star filed for divorce from Dorsey last week and is seeking primary physical custody of their baby boy, with only visitation rights for Dorsey.

“After much consideration, we have made the decision to end our marriage,” the pair told People in a statement on Monday. “Our priority is and always will be our beautiful son that we share together. We will continue to be great co-parenting partners for him. We ask for respect and privacy for our family during this difficult time.”

The couple wed in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in July 2014, roughly three months after Rivera broke off her engagement to Big Sean. "We feel truly blessed to be joined as husband and wife," they told People following their nuptials. "Our special day was fated and everything we could have ever asked for."

They continued, "True love always prevails."

Rivera and Dorsey welcomed their first child, Josey Dorsey, in August 2015.

Earlier this year, the Puerto Rican actress revealed that she and Dorsey had dated years prior, and she even underwent an abortion in 2010, after becoming pregnant with his child and concealing the pregnancy from Dorsey. "It was very scary to open up about everything," she said. "It's not something a lot of people talk about, but I think they should. I know some people might read it and say, 'What the Hell?' But I hope someone out there gets something out of it."
