Selena Gomez is back and better than ever!
After a 90-day hiatus from her career, the singer has finally spoken up about how she's feeling. Gomez participated in Thrive Global's questionnaire, where she explained the first moments she felt "burnt out". "Three months ago, before I took a hiatus to take care of myself," she explained. "I recently took 90 days off. During that time I did not have my cell phone," she explained. "It was the most refreshing, calming, rejuvenating feeling. Now I rarely pick up my phone, and only limited people have access to me." She also offered a few examples as to how she filled her day and relaxed. To start, "Drink water, stretch and take a deep breath," as well as napping, cooking and self-affirmations.
On Sunday, the Mexican-American actress made her first public appearance in months at the AMAs. Gomez hit the red carpet, and later made a heartfelt speech when accepting the award for Best Pop/Rock Album of the Year. During the speech, she thanked her fans for being so loyal, and urged them to seek help, as she did, if feeling "broken". A week ago, the singer also returned to Instagram for the first time in months, expressing her gratitude for all that she has accomplished this year. She wrote, "I have a lot to be thankful for this year.. My year has been the hardest yet most rewarding one yet. I've finally fought the fight of not 'being enough'. I have only wanted to reflect the love you guys have given me for years and show how important it is to take care of YOU. By grace through faith. Kindness always wins. I love you guys. God bless."
Safe to say, 2017 will be Gomez's ultimate year to shine.
