Celebrities are hustlers who love making extra money on the side through endorsements. We all know this. But sometimes, the endorsements don’t quite… fit. Below check out 10 surprising and weird endorsements from some of our fave stars.
The actor’s known on-screen ruthlessness is channeled in a new commercial for Old El Paso products. Our eyebrows rose when we saw the intimidating 69-year-old actor in a kitchen piecing together a nice, home-cooked meal for his fictional family, but there he is in this 30-second spot developed by UK agency Bartle Bogle Hergarty. Trejo even smiles in the commercial. Of course – the actor’s aggressiveness seeps through eventually – check out the ad below:
Our eyebrows raised when we first saw the Xenadrine endorsement from the former Jersey Shore star. We watched the reality TV star pump iron at the gym for multiple seasons, so to see him give credit to weight loss pills for his physique was puzzling. Also, we don't know much about advertisements, but we do know that Ronnie could have sounded so much more convincing in this commercial. We are cringing.
There’s just something about Salma Hayek’s petite figure and famous juice cleanses (she’s been doing those for over a decade) that doesn’t really scream Burger King to us.
J.Lo’s Gillette Venus commercial makes you feel like, upon shaving your legs, you’re going to look as good as she does on stage, or singing your heart out, or walking down a red carpet, or running down the beach and almost joyously tripping over sand. And once the commercial ends, you realize that’s not going to happen, and you’re not her.
With all the money he has, Mr. Worldwide can afford much more expensive cameras than a Kodak. Also, ain’t nobody got time fo’ dat.
This commercial featuring the Mexican American actress is too sexy. We mean, too sensual – and in our eyes, unnecessarily so because it’s for the SHEBA cat food brand. Take a look for yourself:
Last year, the Academy Award-winning actress and her sis Mónica partnered up for the most surprising endorsement ever – the New Super Mario Bros. 2 game for Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 3DS XL. They just never looked like game nerds to us.
Yes, we all know how hot our June/July 2013 cover star is – but to our surprise, not hot enough for the policewoman in this Sabritas commercial. She was eyeing the chips the whole time.
The Cuban-American actor went in between the sheets for an ad campaign for Charisma bedding… and towels.
The Colombian actress supports Onion Crunch, an onion condiment used for topping everything from mashed potatoes to hot dogs and even pizza. Before you ask why... and what in the world... you should know that the all-natural, vegan product is owned by her fiancé Nick Leob.
