Back in 2014, Zoe Saldana wasn't quite ready to share the biggest news of her life — that she would soon be giving birth to twins. Friend and former co-star Britney Spears, however, took it upon herself to share the news with the world. Nearly three years later, the mix-up is still a topic of conversation, and such was the case on Thursday night's episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
Here's how it went down, according to Saldana: “We were on the same flight from L.A. to New York and we just talked for the duration of the flight. She has two boys, I was having twins — and we had a beautiful talk. And I forgot — it never even occurred to me to not to say anything. We weren’t trying to hide it, we were just trying to be discreet."
Days later, Spears was asked by Entertainment Tonight if the two gals would ever reunite for another movie, following their 2002 Crossroads collab. “Who knows? That’s a very good idea. But she’s pregnant with twins right now," she said, without thinking. "So I’m sure she’s got a huge future ahead of her."
The Guardians of the Galaxy actress isn't holding a grudge, though. “The way that it happened was so innocent that I never even thought of holding her accountable for anything,” Saldana explained. “She was just being Britney. I love her — I don’t mean that in a negative way, I mean that in the way that she lives her life in such truth.” The Dominican and Puerto Rican star added that it was as simple as her and hubby Marco Perego not being "ready" to share the news.
Nowadays, the couple is constantly showing off their adorable twins, and even publicly shared the news of their third son, Zen.
