Benicio del Toro has been named the face of the 2011 Campari calendar. The Italian liquor company announced their pick yesterday. Del Toro, 43, is the first man to grace the Campari calendar, which has been deemed "The Red Affair."

"It is an honor to be the first ever Campari Man," said Del Toro. "I am in good company with my three amigas of previous calendars: Jessica Alba, Salma Hayek, and Eva Mendes. The 2011 Campari Calendar images tell a very cinematic story, which made it fun for me as an actor. I’m really looking forward to seeing the reaction of Campari fans to the style and drama of the 2011 edition."

Internationally acclaimed contemporary photographer Michel Comte shot the 2011 Campari calendar, which illustrates a cinematic adventure that casts Del Toro as a charismatic hero (of course!). The new calendar will be available a the end of October.

Mariela Rosario,

I'm a raging opinionista and I love to share my ramblings on everything from pop culture to food to stuff that makes me laugh & cry! I've worked in all types of media (TV, film, print) and was previously the online editor at Latina magazine before joining Mamás Latinas. On most nights you can find me working my way through my library of cookbooks or playing with my puppy Lola (my only child so far). I have a wonderful hubby who shares my passion for any and all kinds of travel. Together, we've formed a semi-professional wine drinking team.
