Rumor has it that Nicole Richie and Joel Madden may have taken the plunge in a top secret and low-key ceremony this week. Richie recently gave birth to the couples second child, a baby boy named Sparrow, on Sept. 9th. A source told Radaronline.com that Nicole and Joel obtained a wedding license last week, which means that they would have 90 days to tie the knot, according to California law.

This wouldn't exactly be shocking news, considering the fact the couple has spoken in the past about how committed they are to one another. In an interview with Larry King back in May, Richie shared her views on marriage. "Of course, when I was a little girl, I dreamed about getting married and that is definitely a dream of mine one day. But right now, we're really really focused on our family; we're focused on our foundation. As far as feeling that need of commitment, we both really have that in each other. I think for both of us, we are going to do it because we want to, not because that's what you do."

So did they?!? We can't be 100 percent sure because their mouthpieces are keeping totally mum on the topic. Just in case though: Congrats Nicole & Joel!
