Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony Visit School for Disadvantaged Boys

Splash News

Students at San Miguel, a private school in Washington D.C. for disadvantaged Latino children, were graced with a surprise visit from Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez on Wednesday. School president Thomas Gerrow said the famous couple was interested in the school’s mission. "Latino males are the lowest graduation rate in the country. And our success so far have been superb in order to overcome those issues," he said.

"I think it was a great honor to have two celebrities to talk about our education," said 6th grader Jivier Ruiz. The couple toured classrooms, and Lopez even offered to help one student with his report on Selena. We think that kid is guaranteed an A on his homework.

Anthony and Lopez, who were in D.C. to perform at the White House, encouraged the children to stay focused on their education. "I literally got a sense when I was walking in that I was looking at the future leaders of this country," said Anthony.

I know they worked hard for their money, and deserve to spend it as they please; but G-d please touch them to open up their eyes and know they are not going to be young and good looking for life. Can their money really buy them the fountain of youth and meaningless items that will one day be worthless even to them??? Children are more important, there are so many Latin kids who are in desperate need of a good education, and parents that have to struggle through harassment in jobs, and discrimination, even being degraded and framed as criminals. Dear G-d, I can only pray these two work to make even a small change for some kids if they can. We need all the help we can get. There are not enough Latin leaders, Puerto Ricans are going through so much, and I talk of experience. I have had to be an angel to my loved ones, and struggle just to watch them grow. Why are there not enough Latin teachers, attorneys; judges??? Why when you go for a job interview you hardly see any Latino employees? Why are most Latinos labeled as Bi-polar, or autism, or even ADHD??? Why are so many Latinos on public assistance, and government programs just to get by??? Is it really that we are all lazy, or we all have "behavior problems", or are all criminals, or violent??? NO!!!! it's called inequality, and discrimination bottom line that's what it is. All I can say is let's pray that each & every Latino given an opportunity focuses on helping other Latinos.

Let's see, how much education do they have? I think it's great for Public Relations, but becuse of luck they are loaded. Of course they work kinda hard for the money, but still.
