Disgraced Today Show host, Matt Lauer, has been accused of sexual harassment by several women, one of whom, a former colleague, said the anchor gifted her a sex toy with an explicit note about how we wanted to use it on her.

And in a video recently uncovered from back in 2006, Lauer’s former co-host, Meredith Veira, claimed to have found a “huge bag of sex toys” in his office closet which Lauer said was given to the staff by a show guest. (Viera claims not to have recieved such a bag.) Now, sex therapist Dr. Laura Berman has come forward to say that she did in fact gave Lauer a bunch of sex toys after a Today Show appearance, and wonders if her gift played any part in the sexual misconduct Lauer allegedly committed.

According to Berman, Lauer asked for the toys himself. In an interview with Inside Edition, the doc recalled the encounter. “We were in the makeup room and he sort of asked the makeup artist to leave,” Berman said. “He asked me about sexual aids and devices. He confided in me about some of the struggles he was having in his married relationship.”

Dr. Berman gave him a collection of toys from her line, designed for couples who want to spice up their relationship, when the internationally recognized newsman expressed concern about being spotted in a sex shop.

“I’m sort of crestfallen if any of those toys were used to harass any colleagues or any women,” Berman told Inside Edition.

The 59-year old reporter was fired from NBC last week amid the allegations and “inappropriate sexual behavior.” Explaining Lauer’s dismissal, chairman Andrew Lack sent a memo to staff, which said the network received a “detailed” complaint about Lauer and that “it represented, after serious review a clear violation of our company’s standards.”

Shortly after the firing, Variety released a report about with details of the allegations, and in the days since, more complaints have been made public and there have been many accounts of the type of unhealthy work environment Lauer allegedly created at NBC.

Lauer broke his silence last week, saying in part, “There are no words to express my sorrow and regret for the pain I have caused others by words and actions. To the people I have hurt, I am truly sorry.”
