Ricky Martin is opening the door to his Beverly Hills mansion and there is no doubt he is livin' la vida. The Puerto Rican heartthrob, who shares the 3,000-square-foot home with fiancé Jwan Yosef and their nine-year-old twins, Matteo and Valentino, took Architectural Digest on an exclusive tour of his L.A. mansion.
Though the former Menudo member bought his dream home for whopping $13.5 million back in November 2016, Yosef told the interior design magazine the star-studded city was not in their initial plans. "We were considering living in London or New York City, but then we decided to rent in Los Angeles for a month, to get a feel for the vibe. L.A. totally caught us off guard—we loved it. By the end of the month, we knew we wanted to be here," the Syrian-born Swedish artist revealed.
And after seeing about 26 homes during their three-day house hunt, they decided to stay with the 1953 modernist home created by midcentury architect Gregory Ain. Of course, the home now has special touches added by the couple, including a dining table the singer bought 25-years-ago and pieces of art created by Yousef.
The 46-year-old plans to eventually build a recording studio, as well as a tree house for the twins. “There’s so much potential for crafting a vibrant, creative environment for our family,” the two-time Grammy winner said. “You can never be sure what the future will bring, but I can’t wait to find out.”
Martin, who is no stranger to being on the road thanks to his Martin’s One World Tour and Los Vegas residency, admits that though his sons are constantly relocating their home is more than just a location. "Tino and Matteo were born on the road. They're used to spending two weeks in one place and then moving on," Martin says. "Our kids are stable when we are together. Wherever we happen to be, that's home."
