Ronda Rousey’s wedding preparation is in full swing.
During an appearance on Live With Kelly and Ryan, the UFC women’s bantamweight champ revealed that she would be walking down the aisle in Hawaii thanks to her fiancée, Travis Browne's, roots. “He’s Hawaiian, so we’re gonna do kinda like a backyard, Mexican Corona party — but, like, in Hawaii,” the Olympic bronze medalist told the hosts.
The 30-year-old, who got engaged to her boyfriend of two years back in April, announced the exciting news by posting a hilarious photoshopped image of herself in a black tux carrying her boo wearing a white wedding gown.
The mixed martial artist proposed to the Venezuelan beauty under a waterfall in New Zealand. “It was actually after heavy rain, and we were under this waterfall,” Rousey said, recalling the day her beau popped the question. “Apparently he had this whole speech prepared, but it just went down into bullet points at the moment.”
The athlete also revealed that Browne was unable to ask her mother’s permission for her hand in marriage after her Venice, California home was robbed, before heading to their romantic getaway.
“We stopped by the house right before we were going to go to the airport and he was going to sneak away and go ask my mom for permission, but right when we got to the house, we realized we were robbed,” Rousey explained. “Someone had been squatting in my house for like three days, sleeping in my bed.
Thankfully with the help of some security cameras, the UFC fighter and her boo were able to find out who were the perpetrators. “We have security cameras, so we looked back at them, and we saw that they were a bunch of kids with skateboards and there’s a famous skate park right across the street cause we’re in Venice,” Rousey said. “So my man’s six-foot-seven, like 260 [pounds], he like beelines it straight to the skateboard park, finds the guys right away. He’s smart enough not to [hit them], we’ll get sued pretty hard, but he found the police right then, and they caught them.”
