Salma Hayek had a very important message to convey to 60,000 screaming fans in New York City Saturday.
The host of the Global Citizens Festival alongside Stephen Colbert and Hugh Jackman wanted to make sure attendees knew that one of this year’s goals for the annual gathering was ending world poverty by 2030.
"This is me just before facing 60k people at the #GlobalCitizen festival who are really waiting for Beyonce," Hayek captioned an Instagram pic.
The star-studded event also included celebs like Leonardo DiCaprio and Vice President Joe Biden, who put a spotlight on other issues like the world’s current migrant crisis. Usher also made an appearance as well as Katie Holmes and her beautiful daughter, Suri Cruise.
“Suri came out looking adorable,” a source told E! News. “She was wearing a dress and cardigan with her hair down. She was cute.”
Stellar musical duets entertained the crowd, like Beyoncé -- who had the honor of introducing the First Lady Michelle Obama -- and Ed Sheeran’s rendition of “Drunk in Love.”
Coldplay and Ariana Grande teamed up earlier in the day for a duet before the “Love Me Harder” singer headed downtown to Brooklyn for her show at the Barclays Center with Prince Royce.
Backstage at the Global Citizens Festival, Hayek hung out with pals Susan Sarandon and Kerry Washington.
“Hanging backstage with my beautiful sister,” the Mexican beauty captioned a sweet Instagram photo of her and Washington together.
