We love Ben Affleck and are super excited to see him play Batman in the untitled sequal to Man of Steel, but we can’t help but wish that a Latino actor had been cast for the role of the millionaire caped crusader!
So take heed, casting directors! Here are 5 seriously badass Latino actors who we think should have been cast as Bruce Wayne!
Benicio del Toro
Benicio del Toro has been in hiding for a while, but we think it’s about time he came out of his bat cave!
The Puerto Rican actor’s intense gaze and ability to play a wide range of sometimes unstable characters makes Benicio a perfect candidate to play the troubled vigilante!
We have to admit, Javier Bardem has played some of our favorite movie villains. From his role in No Country for Old Men to his recent role as the bleached-blonde sociopath in Skyfall, Javier makes being bad look so good.
That being said, we’re looking forward to seeing this gifted actor and papi of two finally play a superhero—even if he is a bit broody and tormented!
Danny Pino may play a detective on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, but we think it’s about time he be promoted to superhero. Handsome Danny sure does have the look to play the role of a rich playboy-turned-superhero. Just look at that strong jaw line, those intense eyes and that fit bod. Yup, we’d say this experienced crime fighter is ready for an upgrade!
You have to admit, Rodrigo Santoro has a very Christian Bale quality about him. Perhaps it’s those high cheekbones, or the way he grows a stubbly beard, but there’s something about him that harkens back to the Batman franchise’s most popular Batman ever.
That being said, we think Brasileño Rodrigo can bring a little diversity to the oddly white-washed city of Gotham.
The dimple-chinned Velezuelan actor is no stranger to action films. He’s been in everything from Wrath of the Titans to The Bourne Ultimatum to Zero Dark Thirty, so we know he can handle the stunts, fights and everything else in between.
Not to mention, Edgar looks amazing in a suit. We’d just like to see him in a bullet-proof one, fitted with a cape!
