2012 MTV Video Music Awards Moonman Predictions

The moonman is floating around and up for grabs again for the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards! It’s also that time of year when Snooki’s meatball lover Jionni and their new baby Lorenzo (he is super cute!) take a back seat for the sake of pop music. Amen.

Romeo Santos already nabbed the MTV Tr3s’ “Best Latino Artist of the Year” (no surprise there), but we are naming our top picks and predictions for several categories including the ones with Latino nominees!

Best Choreography: While Rihanna’s intoxicating single, “Where Have You Been” is every single woman’s anthem; J.Lo’s dance moves in “Dance Again,” featuring Pitbull, is sure to snag the award. Who can forget her steamy chemistry with her boyfriend, Casper Smart? Yes, there’s no doubt our J.Lo has this one in the bag.

Best Female Video: Yes, we think Selena Gomez should totally win for her ode to karaoke lovers in her video, “I Love You Like a Love Song,” but the pop star has some tough competition from Beyonce (“Love on Top”) and Rihanna (“We Found Love”). Hopefully Selena is able to win over the Chris Brown look-a-like in RiRi’s video!

Best Video With a Message: Demi Lovato’s empowering lyrics in “Skyscraper” totally trumps everyone else in this category, including Kelly Clarkson and Gym Class Heroes. Besides, she was barefoot in the middle of the desert. Shouldn't that count for something?

Best New Artist: Fun featuring Janelle Monae will rock this category for their hit single, “We are Young.” Janelle has had us dancing on her “Tightrope” for a while now, but this collaborative track made it on everyone’s ‘let’s rule the world’ playlist.

Best Male Video: It’s not just because he’s Selena’s novio! We totally think Justin Bieber has it in the bag for his sultry, “Boyfriend” video. We’ll be celebrating his win by ‘chilling by the fire and eating fondue.’ I mean, why not?

Let us know, what are your VMA picks and predictions?
