Mariah Carey may be head-over-heels in her new relationship, but the singer still has room for one more dig at her ex, James Packer.
On the latest episode of Mariah's World, Carey showed herself back in the studio recording new single "I Don't" about her split from the billionaire. In the song, she belts out some heartfelt lyrics that are clearly geared at Packer: "Gave you everything that you needed, I was even down to repeat it"; "Leaving you was my worst fear. I was caught up, I was blind, you kept playin' with my mind."
Carey also revealed what motivated her decision to split from her ex. "Ever since the tour wrapped I took some time just to process my feelings and I started writing a song to express what I've been going through," she said. "And if you're not getting the love that you need from someone that you're supposed to be in a real relationship with, then why remain in that situation?"
The two separated back in October, reportedly due to Carey's "extravagant spending." Reports later came out saying that she cheated on Packer with backup dancer Brian Tanaka, who she is now in a committed relationship with. In December, she and Tanaka were caught kissing while on vacation in Hawaii and were said to be "all over each other" at the beach. Shortly thereafter, the dancer held nothing back when asked about Carey: "I love her so much," he said.
