I’ve been following this story very closely since Big Pun’s (RIP) platinum chain went up on eBay for auction. At the time it was a disturbing sight to see a piece of Latino Hip Hop history go up on the auction block. But when you dug deeper into the story you realized that a lot of people were doing Pun’s legacy and his family wrong along the way. At the end of the day, there are many people who are still profiting off of Big Pun, and to not make sure his family is taken care of is not only a shameful act, it’s a deplorable and inexcusable act. I personally don’t care what Fat Joe’s beef with Liza is, he does have a responsibility to Pun’s children, one who I believe is his godchild, to ensure that they never go hungry and that they never ended up homeless… Let me repeat that… Fat Joe absolutely has a responsibility to Big Pun’s children as Pun elevated him to the level he is today and the least he can do to show his gratitude for what Pun did for him personally and professionally is to make sure those kids are taken care of for the rest of their lives. This is “exactly” the problem with Latinos and that crabs in a bucket mentality that continues to hurt us to this day! I hope that attorneys at some point take notice and rectify the contractual obligations Fat Joe & Jellybean Benitez have to Pun’s family. And even if the contracts sucked and no money is owed... Money is certainly deserved by the children of the late Big Pun – Author Ivan Sanchez
