América Ferrera is taking time off from campaigning for Hillary Clinton to lend her name to another worthy cause: hosting the third annual Hot in Hollywood charity event in L.A. to benefit the AIDS Healthcare Foundation and Real Medicine, a disaster relief organization.
Hot in Hollywood, which will take place on Aug. 16, brings out A-list names year after year for a night of dinner, drinks and dancing to benefit various charities. "I bought a table the first year with friends and had so much fun watching the performances," Ferrera tells Us Weekly. "Performing in the second year was an honor and a ton of fun... I can't wait to host this year's event. This is a cause dear to my heart."
Even though her schedule must be super busy with filming for Ugly Betty (which premieres on April 24) and promoting her upcoming movies How the Garcia Girls Spent Their Summer and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, it's nice to see that América still makes time for what's important.
