While the American Idol judges continue on their search for the next big star on tomorrow night's episode, we have our eyes and ears hooked on contestant, Tenna Torres. The newbie from Queens, New York was featured during the season premiere of the hit FOX show, and ended up blowing away her icon Mariah Carey.
The 28-year-old singer attended Camp Mariah when she was younger and confessed; "I’ve been listening to Mariah since I was 5 years old." The half-Puerto Rican contestant ended up taking the stage and sang Carole King’s “You’ve Got a Friend."
"If we could have someone like this come out of Idol season 12, I would personally be very proud...I loved it,” said Carey. Nicki Minaj also surprisingly agreed with Mimi and said, "We are just in awe."
We hope Torres and Cuban singer Lazaro Arbos make it all the way to the top 10! Who are you rooting for on Idol?
