'American Idol' Recap: Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj Drama Replaced by Steven Tyler in Drag

American Idol paid a visit to Oklahoma City in search for the next Carrie Underwood during last night’s episode. One would think that the place was filled with pop country stars in the making, but it sadly wasn’t the case. Instead, it was a long night filled with bizarre auditions sprinkled with some actual talent.

After Zoanette painfully sang the national anthem (and even forgot some of the lyrics) she still won herself a pass to Hollywood. We can tell that if it was up to Mariah Carey it would have been a no-go, but sadly the other three judges loved her. Our only explanation is that there was a surplus of golden tickets last night. Just saying...

Thankfully, 16-year-old Kayden turned things around for us. Born with Cystic Fibrosis, the teen was given a life expectancy of around 30 years. He ended up killing his rendition of Stevie Wonder’s, “I Wish,” and was even compared to Michael Jackson by Mimi. We personally feel like he may be the next Justin Bieber. Comparing him to MJ was a bit of a stretch, but thankfully he earned his ticket with a unanimous ‘yes.’

Finally the last audition was Steven Tyler dressed in drag! “You look like a lady!” joked Carey. He sure knows how to rock pumps and a blonde wig. Did we also mention that he mooned the judges? Yes, their faces were priceless! We hope his co-judge J.Lo also makes a surprise appearance this season.
