Diego Luna was probably a Spanish teacher in a past life – but a rather inappropriate one.
According to Huffington Post Latino Voices, The 33-year-old Mexican actor swung by Conan on Monday night and taught host Conan O’Brien a few Spanish words to be able to survive in the future, like the characters in Luna’s new film, Elysium.
Directed by Neil Blomkamp, the upcoming sci-fi film is set in a futuristic all-Spanish speaking Los Angeles and explores themes such as immigration, health care and class issues. Along with Luna, Matt Damon and Jodie Foster star in the film, out this Friday.
“Do you speak Spanish?” Luna asked Conan during his appearance on the late night show. “The thing is if you want to keep your job in this network, you’re going to have to learn Spanish. You know like 47 million people speak Spanish today, and we like having sex, so multiply that [by] eight in ten years.”
