On Thursday, the nominees for the 2014 Primetime Emmy Awards were announced -- and only one Latino made the list.
Mexican comedian Louis C.K. picked up a nomination for Lead Actor in a Comedy for his work on the FX's series Louis.
Sofia Vergara, the star of Modern Family, failed to pick up a nomination for Supporting Actress in a Comedy, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which stars Melissa Fumero and Stephanie Beatriz, picked up just one nomination -- a Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy nom for Andre Braugher. Brooklyn Nine-Nine won the Golden Globe for Best Television Series -- Musical or Comedy earlier this year.
The Emmy Awards clearly favor powerhouse networks HBO, FX, AMC and Netflix. HBO's hit series Game of Thrones leads the pack with an astounding 19 nominations. FX miniseries Fargo comes in second place with 18 noms. Other shows with multiple nominations include Orange Is The New Black, House of Cards, Breaking Bad, and True Detective.
The awards show airs on Monday, August 25th at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
