Sara Ramirez of 'Greys Anatomy' Dishes on Challenges of Callie Episode

Did you watch last night’s emotional episode of Grey’s Anatomy

Callie Torres, played by Mexican-American actress Sara Ramirez, faced a tough malpractice suit–and that’s just the beginning of the drama.

“Sorry Seems To Be the Hardest Word” centered on Dr. Torres, posing a challenge for Ramirez, who appeared in all but one scene.

“When I found out this was going to happen, I thought ‘How am I going to do this?’” she told Fox News Latino, “And then you just do it. The crew does this every day -- being there from the morning and to the end of the day.”

The 38-year-old actress admits shooting the episode was tough, but said she focused on listening to her body to make the 12 to 14-hour days manageable.

“You have to maintain your stamina,” she said, “It can be very difficult to film a TV show because a lot of machinery is moving. You just have to be mindful, drinking a lot of water.”

Last night’s episode was just one more twist in Callie Torres’s tumultuous life. In the past, she’s powered through a plane crash, an amputation, cheating, and a painful and dramatic on-again-off-again relationship with her lover, Arizona, played by Jessica Capshaw

“These writers -- they trust us with these storylines,” Ramirez said, “And it’s a fantastic opportunity to play the drama and the comedic tones. It stretches us as an actor to convince the audience of the storyline.”

We won’t give too much away, but fans of Callie Torres have much to rejoice after last night’s episode. Did you watch? What did you think?
