Somewhere, right now, Greg Garcia is really pissed off! The My Name is Earl creator, who blasted NBC a few weeks ago for cancelling his once-golden comedy series at the very last minute, tried to shop his show around to other cable networks in the hopes of keeping it alive for a fifth season. Just a few days ago, it seemed likely that cable network TBS was interested in picking Earl up for at least half of a full season (13 episodes). But yesterday, the sad news broke that the not-so-super-station would not be rescuing Earl (and actress Nadine Velasquez’s job) now that the comedy series has fallen off that big sinking ship known as NBC.

According to EW.com's Michael Aussiello, a spokesperson for Twentieth Century Fox Television confirmed that Earl is officially dead in the following statement: “While we had hoped to find a way to produce additional episodes for TBS, in the final analysis we simply could not make the economics work without seriously undermining the artistic integrity of the series. As none of us, [series creator] Greg [Garcia] included, want the show to go out on anything but a high note, we regret that we must put to rest any speculation that Earl will continue. We are grateful to everyone at TBS for their enthusiasm for the series and wish to offer our heartfelt thanks to the cast and crew of My Name is Earl for their incredible work." Long statement, huh?

Anyway, cue Greg Garcia insults in 3, 2, 1…
