Lots of lucky people get to see the latest collections come down the runway each season at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, but few get to see the clothes up close and personal...before the runway show even happens! That's why we knew we couldn't pass up the opportunity when Custo Barcelona invited us downtown to their Soho boutique to check out the Spring/Summer 2014 collection up close & personal.
Custo Barcelona designer, Custo Dalmau, personally gave us a sneak peak at what we will see on the runway for Spring 2014 - a look that is sophisticated, tribal-chic. This season the focus is all on fabrication and materials.
“In many of the pieces we used a handloom to weave the fabric,” shares Dalmau. “The bright colors are inspired by sunny days in the Mediterranean,” says the Barcelona native.
Expect to see a lots of leg on the runway (and for Spring 2014). Dalmau’s favorite pieces are shorts smartly paired with jackets. Who is the collection made for? “Women with a young spirit who like to express their individuality,” says Dalmau.
Make sure to check back soon to see the collection hit the runway at New York Fashion Week!
