Lauren Michaels is Co-President and Publisher of Latina Media Ventures, responsible for licensing partnerships and building the LMV brand equity. She oversees all advertising and marketing operations of LMV’s diverse media platforms, including its flagship magazine, Latina, the leading fashion, beauty & lifestyle magazine for acculturated U.S. Hispanic women, as well as Latina.com, Latina Lounge and Latina Signature Events.
Michaels joined Latina magazine and Latina.com as Publisher in 2007. Under her leadership, both Latina magazine and Latina.com underwent significant redesigns to more effectively address the needs of today’s sophisticated and bicultural Latina. Additionally, Michaels raised the rate base of Latina Magazine by nearly 10% within six months of her arrival; further proof that Latina’s relevant content continues to translate to circulation vitality. Under her leadership, the Latina Lounge Digital Ad Network was launched in June 2009 and is the exclusive digital ad network for Hispanic women at all acculturated levels in English.
A seasoned executive with over 25 years of media background both in print and digital, Michaels has extensive experience and success in marketing to women across many different categories. She has held a variety of senior executive roles: Hearst Magazines, including Publisher of Weekend, Associate Publisher of Good Housekeeping, Associate Publisher of Harper’s Bazaar, Associate Publisher of Marie Claire and Advertising Director of Redbook. She was also Group Publisher of Lewit & Lewinter’s Mode and Girl magazines. At Conde Nast, she served as Group Advertising Director for Vogue magazine and Advertising Manager of Allure.
Michaels graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in English and resides in New York City.
