Custo Barcelona: Textured Beauty Meets Multi-Color Furs

I've seen many desingers show their collections again and again at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Each season, I love attending Custo Barcelona's show because I know it's going to be loads of color (even for Fall fashion week, which is dominated by black, white and gray) and loads of fun. Designer Custo Dalmau is the king of mixing textures with bold colors, and this season was truly a wow moment.

First, let's talk about those furs. While the thought of a multi-color fur might sound scary for some, the pieces Custo sent down the runway were classic sillouhettes in purple, brown, orange, red and green that felt contemporary and not at all contrived. Layered over textured dresses in beautiful materials, the final result was luxe, sophisticated and trend-forward all at the same time.

Custo continued the use of fur throughout the collection in the pièce de résistance (as the French would say...), a gorgeous half-wool, half-fur showstopping belted peacoat. You have to see it to believe it!

The theme of mixed textures and heavy layering carried on all throughout the collection along with beautiful embroidery. The entire look was highlighted well by stick straight hair and clean, natural makeup that didn't distract from the clothing.

In fact, most of the models wore purple aviator sunglasses as they made their way down the runway, so it was hard to even see if they had eye makeup on at all! Could that be the tricky new way designers save time on hair and makeup before the show?

I could totally see Nicole Richie rocking this chevron-esque fur vest below.

Speaking of celebrities, Joe Jonas sat front row but my eyes were peeled at all the Latino stars out supporting the Spanish label. Real Housewives of Miami's Adriana de Moura was one seat away from former True Blood star Kevin Alejandro (RIP Jesus).

Last but not least, how obsessed are you with this parted, stick-straight hair and blunt bang combo as seen on the models backstage?
