What happens when Juan Gabriel and fashion come together? Pure magic!! The late singer, who passed away unexpectedly back in 2016, was the insipration of fashion designer Carlos Campos's latest collection.
On Tuesday, the Honduran designer debuted his Men’s Fall 2018 which was all inspired by the by the "charro" suits. “I love mariachis and their music and I wanted to reinterpret what Juan Gabriel would have worn today,” Campos told Women’s Wear Daily.
The menswear collection featured an array of matching outerwear and pleated pants that took a spin from mariachi cultura.
Campos, who came to the United States when he was just 13-years-old, was able to found his own company at the mere age of 19. "I am the perfect example of the American dream,” he tells AFP. “I am a dreamer and I will continue to be,” the Honoduran-born designer told AFP.
While Campos was never a DREAMer under the Obama-era program for children brought to the US illegally, he deeply feels for them. "I sympathise with them because I lived this situation for many years...It's very sad to see them in that situation ― we all deserve an opportunity.”
