Just one day after Nike teased followers with sketches from their latest running innovation, the athletic apparel brand unveiled the Nike Epic React Flyknit. The sneaker not only offers runners more cushioning, it also gives them 13 percent greater energy return than Nike Lunarlon foam.
“Think about your pillow — when you’re laying your head down to go to sleep, you don’t want it to bounce back up after it hits the pillow,” Ernest Kim, Director of Advanced Footwear Nike Running, said in a statement. “Instead, you want that pillow to absorb all of the force of you laying your head down so that you can get a good night’s sleep. That’s what we mean when we talk about great cushioning.”
Though the shoemaker introduced Nike React foam in their 2017 basketball shoe launch, this time around the innovative foam, which took 400 combinations of chemistry and processing to develop, is not encased to give runners traction and stability.
Of course, we couldn't wait to give these bad boys a try. So, when we were offered the opportunity to test out the Nike Epic React, we immediately signed up. In terms of comfortability, the sock-like upper not only makes it easy to simply slip in your foot, it's also perfectly snug around the ankle.
If you're an avid runner or simply enjoy hitting the treadmill, the Nike React foam is a feature you won't want to live without. The cushioning is super responsive and provides the perfect amount of bounce with every stride and move you make.
Aesthetically Nike does a phenomenal job of creating sneakers that look great while you're working out or doing errands, so it's not surprising, Nike Epic React also lived up to those expectations. The unisex sneaker comes in two beautiful colorways, that will give your go-to sneakers a run for their money.
Considering Nike's impressive selling power in sportswear, we're sure the Nike Epic React Flyknit will be a hit once they become available to the public. The Nike Epic React Flyknit will be available at Nike.com and select Sportswear retailers on February 22nd.
