Jenni Rivera's English Pop Album to Be Released This Year

Jenni Rivera's life may have been cut short, but her legacy will live on in her music. The Rivera family plans on releasing her English-language pop album, which she recorded back in 2004. The tracks were submitted to her label and held for reasons unknown, reports MTV Tr3s.

La Diva de la Banda's record sales have increased dramatically since her tragic death last month in Mexico. According to The New York Times, her albums sold 10 times more than the week before she passed away (a total of 64,000 albums sold in the United States alone). In addition, her latest album La Misma Gran Señora, which was release just two days after her death, hit the top three spot on Billboard's Latin chart.

Her English album was one of many crossover projects Jenni had planned. Besides her portray of an incarcerated mother fighting to rebuild her relationship with her daughter in Filly Brown, she also planned on starring and producing in an ABC sitcom loosely based on her life.

Since her death, her sister Rosie Rivera has been left in charge of Jenni Enterprises, including ongoing business deals and album sales. Although there isn't a slated date for release just yet, Jenni's English-language pop album is said to drop later this year.
