When you marry Cinco de Mayo with lobster - yes, lobster - it's a glorious thing. Case in point: This weekend's first ever Lobster de Mayo, where some of NYC's top restaurants were asked to create Mexican-inspired dishes highlighting everyone's favorite crustaceans.
Did I mention the tequila, because really, what would any Cinco celebration be without a little (or a lot) of Patron, especially if it's for a good cause? The event benefited City Harvest, a NY-based program that aims to fight hunger, and was hosted by Food Network's Katie Lee (Who told us she takes her tequila in a margarita) at Capitale, a Gilded Age-era bank building turned beau-ti-ful event space.
Celeb guests included Domincana Dascha Polanco (Orange is the New Black) and model Chrissy Teigen who enjoyed lobster tacos with jalapeno and radish from ABC Kitchen, Tamale Mole with lobster coral, Chicharones and avocado from The Sea Grill, and my personal favorites - the soft lobster tacos from Beauty & Essex and Bodega Negra.
