Laz Alonso went from a lucrative career on Wall Street as an investment banker to Hollywood, and by taking a look at the Cuban actor – it’s no surprise why. The 38-year-old star, who has had guest roles on shows like, CSI: Miami and The Practice, is now starring in the new drama series, Breakout Kings, slated to premiere this fall on A&E.

Reasons why we love him:

- He co-starred with Zoe Saldana in James Cameron’s hit science fiction film, Avatar. Laz played one of the Na’vi warriors named Tsu’tey. He also co-starred with Don Omar in the street-racing flick, Fast & Furious.

- He calls himself shy, but is open to talking about his romantic ways. "I'm a fierce lover. I love with a passion and ferocity, but I don't spread myself thin and give that to everyone. My mother told me to never make any promises you don't plan on delivering--no matter how small or big,” he said in an interview.

- Before he was reading scripts, Laz starred as a video model. He appeared as the “hot guy” in music videos for Aaliyah and Toni Braxton.
