Jenni Rivera was laid to rest at All Souls Cemetery and Mortuary in Long Beach, California on December 31, almost a month after the deadly plane crash, which also claimed the lives of six others. The private jet carrying the 43-year-old regional Mexican singer crashed in the mountains 60 miles south of Monterrey on December 9.

La Diva de la Banda's remains were recovered near the crash site in Northern Mexico and flown back to California several weeks ago. Her brother Lupillo Rivera tweeted, "Jenni mission accomplished, you're home."

According to El Nacional, her father Pedro Rivera confirmed that the burial was delayed due to legal issues. The family plans on releasing her first-ever English album, which was recorded eight years ago. Jenni's acting debut in the independent film Filly Brown will also premiere in April.

On December 19, over six thousand fans gathered at the Los Angeles' Gibson amphitheater for a public memorial honoring the talented singer. At the ceremony, a red casket adorned with butterflies took center stage as her family, friends, and fans bid farewell to La Diva de la Banda.
