Sixteen-year-old Antonia Lopez is facing serious trouble after she reportedly killed her newborn baby girl by throwing the child out of a second-floor window shortly after giving birth on September 30, according to Omaha World-Herald.
The teen was arrested and put into a juvenile detention on one count of felony child abuse resulting in death and will be charged as an adult. Lopez reportedly went into labor before dawn and at 3:40 a.m. she wrote, "Who can do me a huge favor and has a car?" followed by three crying emojis, on her Facebook page.
Lopez's mom called 911 and was trying to administer CPR before the parademics arrived but it was too late. The 16-year-old's grandfather, John Barcelona, told KETV that he saw her days before and had no idea she was pregnant.
“She looked like she was well underweight more than anything else,” he said. “I would’ve never dreamed that she was pregnant. In my head, I just can’t believe it, I can’t believe it.”
According to the Omaha World-Herald, this isn't Lopez's first time in trouble with the law. She along with a female friend were accused of shoplifting cellphone cases from a Walmart and hiding them inside a pink purse. She was sentenced to at least six months probation.
