Ricky Martin Asks Fans to Compose Brazil's World Cup Anthem

Ever dreamed of hearing a superstar belt out your lyrics? Well, now’s your chance! 

Puerto Rican superstar Ricky Martin has teamed up with Sony to ask fans from across the world to compose the official song of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. The winning submission will be sung by Martin at the sporting event. 

In a video introducing the SuperSong contest, Martin said, “It doesn’t matter who you are or where you are, you have the chance to become a star and write the song of the next World Cup, and I will record it.” 

The Latino is no stranger to the World Cup. Martin recorded the anthem “La Copa de La Vida” as the official song for the 1998 World Cup in France. Fellow Latin star, Shakira, recorded the 2010 World Cup anthem “Waka Waka” for the FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
